I know full well what book is on this trap and think it’s quite a low estimate. In twenty five years I’ve only seen two sell. One was a complete rusted out boat anchor sold for 1800$ the other a perfect example sold for 5000$. This trap definitely not a perfect one but far from boat anchor either.

As you can see one tooth is missing it’s point. The original shelf for the tooth is intact, so is the rivet and tooth base, pan is over half readable but not an easy read, the spring is strong and I can only see one letter the S at the beginning of S Newhouse. Ring is missing on the chain it is an original chain being cast eight the end link being damaged.

This trap was at one time hit with grey primer. I cleaned it pretty well but the clean up probably could be a touch better.
The trap has an original brown patina on it.
The trap is Un messed with in any way, it’s definitely farm fresh.
It is very original the nut has never been spun Off the post, It’s solid.
