Saw this spider at work today (Upstate NY). Cant figure out what it is. Was about 3/4" in diameter. Cool looking but a little creepy according to the boss.

It's possibly a cucumber green orb spider.

Orb weaver. There are a bunch of different color variations of them. Good bug catchers to have around.

I have to go with upstate NY on this one.

Based on the body shape and physical structure that is a hunting spider. Not a web Weaver.
Notice how robust the legs are and short compared to body size. Since hunting spiders must run down their prey and inject their venoms to capture it that spider is ready and able to administer a nasty bite.
Search “hunting spider “ and you will see several versions of that body types.

I think it may be a crab spider- see https://www.dec.ny.gov/docs/wildlife_pdf/commonspiders.pdf for spiders of New York. Scroll to the bottom of the pictures for information

If you could run as fast for your size as that thing does for its size, whoosh 100 mile an hour no problem.

LA trapper you may be right crab spiders are in the hunting spider group.
Killed a billion of them trimming palms in Arizona. Not that brightly colored though.

If you do a quick search on "cucumber green orb spider", these pictures come up.

That lemon thing on its back is likely an egg sac with thousands of baby spiders inside.

Orb weaver spiders don't carry their eggs. They stash them somewhere covered.

I think Cucumber Green spider works. The egg sac is pretty distinctive. Wasn't very big, but it made a gooey mess. Evidently the can cause some necrotizing if they bite. Not the kind of thing I want at my workplace (kids summer camp).

Thanks for the help.
