Way better than coon and a pleasure to put up if you can master cleanskinning.

I think some of the guys taking 100+ heavy western coyotes would disagree with that statement.

Ya I'd rather do 1 nice coyote compared to 8 or 9 beavers

Don't worry Boco has never handled a western heavy coyote to know; being a easterner

Coyote is still a money maker. I had them all written off for $30, very happy to get $120-$155 each.

Even with the prices being in a slump, a guy who knows what he’s doing and knows the area real well can make pretty good money on a coyote/bobcat line here. Sorry boco, your beavers just aren’t as special as you think they are grin

I’d rather put up Ten cheap marten than one stinky nice 100 dollar coyote.

Yes they are, since it works for me.I'll take 40$ all day long for the fall skins I ship to the raw fur market, including castor.
I dont ship small damaged or unprime skins to the raw fur market,I make more money on those in the tanned fur market to fur sewers.
Once you count the castors beaver is bread and butter for me.
I would sooner put up beaver than any other furbearer of compareable size-nice and clean and fast to process.Plus there are tons of beaver to be had every year when managed .And they are concentrated so cheap to harvest in the fall.
Right now the only furbearer to make good money on.(no coyotes here).

Forget that fear of gravity-get a little savagery in your life.

gibb, did any of your selects sell?

My main concern is I'm starting to accumulate a bunch of section III stuff up there and had zero of it sell the last three auctions. I can remember a few years back getting $23-24 for gd dmg blankets. Be happy to see $8-9 now. They fetch that from hatter buyers paying by the pound these days.

My fear of moving stairs is escalating!
