So there's an elderly widow in the village who comes to church, and she asked me to help her sale this gun. I am not trying to sell it to anyone on here or anything, we live in a bush village with no ffl dealer, so it would be impossible to sale it to anyone here anyway, as we couldn't ship it. I am very familiar with the ball park prices for most guns, but not Weatherbys, as I like Mauser actions, and if I'm going to spend money, it will be on a Winchester or something similar. I do not want the gun myself, just trying to find out a fair price for her. It has an h prefix on the serial number, so it's made in Japan. The Redfield scope is not worth much, it has quick detach Leupold scope rings. It has a custom stainless barrel, chambered for 30-06, and is marked Stan's Shop. Any info would be a great help.

Looks like a laser mark to me. A buddy of mine paid 1200 new for one about 25 years ago.

Does it have weatherby on the barrel? Might have been rebarreled if not,

I just found a post on outdoordirectory.com from 2007 about a gunsmith called Stan Jackson, pretty sure he must be the one who rebarreled it. It is not a Weatherby barrel.

There are not many gunsmiths here in AK.

I thought the barrel looked replaced.

Interesting gun, someone will want it.

Stan Jackson in Anchorage rebarreled it, he just retired last year at the age of 92.
