Haven't started a thread on here in about 3 years now, figured I would drop in to say hey. I still lurk around on here sometimes and enjoy the drama, some things never change. I graduated college with a Civil Engineering degree about a year and a half ago and got a local government job. I love what I do and I've been blessed to say the least. Now that I'm out of college I've had a chance to get back to doing all the things I loved growing up. I've gotten back into duck hunting and running dogs and taken up shotgun reloading. Can't wait to get back into trapping. What have y'all been up to??

Looks like you've been busy. Way to go! I've been walleye fishing most mornings. Working in my garden. Making fish oil, wax dirt, drying peat moss,and painting conibears. Them rabbits sure make for good eatin'

Not many mallards or pheasants in NC! Both of those pics came from Kansas.

The rabbits and the wild rainbows are proud products of NC though

Caught my first Pine Marten (bucket list).
Trapping bobcats with my wife.
Crafting with my daughter (rawhide rattle dream catcher).
Making hand drums with my daughter.
Fishing.
I also found time to have a heart attack and get a hip replaced (but who want's to talk about that crap).

Almost forgot about the ankle

High and low lights for last 7-8 months.

I retired from the Marines just over 2 years ago and became a deputy sheriff. I’m currently taking a year off. It’s on this season. Who knows, I may stay retired. Loving the family!

I didn't have the first clue why someone from halfway across the country would be willing to just give somebody something like that.

I was very thankful, but it took me a long time to understand.

Thank you for your generosity and for all of the people on here who have helped a clueless kid get their start.

Since I got out of trapping a little bit I didn't need nearly as many traps as I had. Needless to say those found a home with kids that were like me just trying to figure it all out.

That's when I understood.

I'd bought all those traps to run a road line for coon in Iowa. Then I moved, and wasn't going to need them anymore. I remembered being young and broke and having shoddy traps and not able to get better ones. I figured that if a young man could use them, maybe he would become a life long trapper. Since you're back here now, maybe I was right, lol.

You were right! I had to stop trapping like I was so that I wouldn't fail out of college lol. I'm actually going back online to get my masters while I'm working full time, but I will definitely be easing back into it!
