Badger/coons will do that put down some Diazamine crystals to get rid of the grubs, no grubs no loose grass or coons ripping the grass up.

Which gun club? The one on Tiperary? Smoky Hollow Muzzleloaders, on Parnell Road just west of Cascade. About a mile west of Ridge Runners.

We aren't too worried about the damage, was more curious what caused it.
Skunk or raccoon, we will find out this fall. A badger would be neat, but I really don't want to release one. If it was a badger you would be thinking a rototiller did it they often work huge patches of grass in just a night. My guess is coon, the grubs eat the roots of the grass and the coons can feel the loose sod to find the grubs then.

Skunks and coons do that around here, almost always looking for grubs. In-laws had the problem in their yard, put down grubx to get rid of the grubs. Problem solved.
