Think Buying land in an area that burned would be a good idea? Seems like you could get a good deal at fire sale prices and not have to worry about wild fires again for what 15 to 25 years. Kills the soil in places it takes years to fill the landscape back in pretty ugly for sometime, I hunted Custer State park Bear Draw for Turkeys it was thick timber a few years later I drew another tag you could fly a RC plane there no problem.

There's a fire burning here in Idaho right now that's the 3rd fire in that spot since 2003ish. Just because it's burned before doesn't guarantee you'll have an extended time to worry about another one.

Also depends on how intense the burn is. Some go through an area quick and you'll get regrowth almost immediately. Slow, hot fires scorch the earth and turn it sterile for decades sometimes. Each fire is different

Environmentalism is mostly to blame . Millions of acres of timber that could have been harvested is gone for ever
