Have done it my whole life but haven't got to go much since I lost my dad and handfishing partner/mentor. Biggest I've ever been in on weighed 52 pounds but have caught truck loads of 20-45 pounders. The trick to not getting turtles or beavers is to never go into a hole that could have an air pocket in it or that slants upward. When a fish hollows out his nest he always digs down. Maybe we can get Matt28 to chime in I believe he's got to do a little handfishing this summer maybe he could post some recent pictures. The hook on a pole like was talked about earlier is highly illegal in Oklahoma if the warden so much as catches you with a hook in possession you get to pay a fine. We do carry a good straight green stick to feel out the holes with. Lot can be determined by the feel of something with a green stick. That's also a good way to determine beavers and turtles from fish they all feel different if ya poke em lol.

I like them southern accents !

Only the Southern women do it for me. When the men talk, the accent makes them sound ignorant.

I have a similar reaction to French. When a French woman speaks, whether in French or English, the accent is glamorous and sexy.

But when a French man speaks, the accent makes them sound like they're speaking the foulest, filthiest words you can imagine.

I admit that both impressions result from my own biases.

Yeh you say that but that sweet drawl hides the most troublesomesome species of female on the planet. Never ever get crossways of one, they'll cut you to the quick without breaking a sweat. I done raised a couple and still raising one with three more coming up. I wouldn't turn my back on none of them.

But I will let you in on a little known secret though. Y'all yanks always ask just why we live in the heat and humidity with snakes and gators? Well that's where southern gals are.
