Funny, I went to our local health department for my covt.-19 shot. On the table when you walk in was a bucket of condoms. A great deal of any sport is a mind game.
They used to have magazines on the table to pass the time .......
Let's go Brandon

Foe those of you who have never had to deal personally with mental health issues you are very fortunate, and I am thankful for you. Mental health is very serious and can affect people at any time. Pressure is all self induced. It can only exist if you place it on yourself. No matter what others do until you internalize it then it becomes real and it is on you, but coping and dealing with it is not easy. Yes, this is all mental health issues. It is easy to see a broken arm, leg, etc. seeing a broken brain not so much. We have so stigmatized mental health that it is difficult to deal with.

Having been around Gym clubs (nothing within range of Olympic stuff), and based on personal observations I would say most Gymnasts are likely Type A personality, (tough, strong- minded individuals who are always aiming for perfection).
Other than what I have heard from her, I don't known what the issue is and I don't care to know...it is medical and personal information, which most people would not reveal regardless of status or questions they may be facing...
What I beleive most people can say about her with a level of certainty is that she has represented her Country with a lot of pride and done very well in the past...this alone, I would hope, should give anyone in a similar situation the benefit of the doubt... but again, maybe I have it all wrong...
jbyrd, kids who are addicted to this type of sport are pushing to improve their skills... this drive quickly becomes part of their daily diet (12 to 16 hours a week at the Gym for my kids and they had to do well with homework and rest of it otherwise we were cutting back with training) they work hard to keep it up...so the only thing you can do as parents is support them and pray they don't get hurt...trying to get them out of this sport when they are good at it is like pulling out teeth... and you quickly realize your not gonna be the popular Dad in the neighbourhood or at the Gym Club...
Some of you guys are way to harsh on a girl that has elevated the sport of gymnastic while inspiring many kids across the world...
Just my opinion.

The only ones who should be ashamed are the announcers and media personnel. They cheapened the gold for the other American, Suni Lee, by asking her about Biles every time shes interviewed-basically telling her she is inly where she is because Biles is out. I kinda feel bad for Lee.

The last I heard her timing was off is what they reported today it showed her missing a simple landing by a mile in practice so take that for what it’s worth.

I feel the same but I can’t get on Biles to bad. She is the best and I read the Olympic judges where not going to give her points for parts of her routines because she does stuff others can’t. I would told them to pound sand if I was her

If she said that you would think people would back her up rather then all the mystery stuff I read that they were messing with her scores the other day but nothing said in the MSM.

Gotta like the swimming. A couple good American swimmers wearing multiple gold medals and hands on their hearts during the anthem from what ive seen. The wokeness must not survive in the water.

I heard the Russians have a mind control device that they are experimenting with.
If the Russians would use microwave devices on low ranking, US, foreign dignitaries; it would not surprise me at all that they would use them on US, Olympic athletes, especially in women's gymnastics.

"Strug under-rotated the landing of her first attempt, causing her to fall and injure her ankle. As a result, the attempt was awarded 9.162 points. Strug needed to land a second vault on her feet in order to mathematically clinch the gold.
In the time interval between Strug's two vaults, she asked, "Do we need this?" Károlyi replied, "Kerri, we need you to go one more time. We need you one more time for the gold. You can do it, you better do it." Strug thus limped slightly to the end of the runway to make her second attempt. She landed the vault briefly on both feet, almost instantly hopping onto only her good foot, saluting the judges. She then collapsed onto her knees and needed assistance off the landing platform, to which sportscaster John Tesh commented, "Kerri Strug is hurt! She is hurt badly." The completed vault received a score of 9.712, mathematically guaranteeing the Americans the gold medal, Károlyi carried her onto the medals podium to join her team, after which she was treated at a hospital for a third-degree lateral sprain and tendon damage. Due to her injury, she was unable to compete in the individual all-around competition and event finals, despite having qualified for both.

I remember watching this when it happened in 96. This made me proud to be an American. She was a tough little girl that stood and was strong.
