So my job is sending me to either Memphis or New Orleans for a month any suggestions for outdoor related activities or sights or even just points of interest to take in
Also good places to eat would be appreciated, don’t need a place to stay the job is providing that but something to do in my down time or on weekends would help
Thanks

In Memphis, check out the Bass Pro. It's a pretty cool one. There's Graceland, if you're an Elvis fan, lol. Their zoo is actually really nice too, but no clue if that's something you'd be interested in. Beale St. has lots of good food and music, but can get rough in certain spots.
Whichever place they send you to, you'll be 3 hours from Vicksburg. It's worth the drive to tour the civil war park. Will definitely take all day, so leave early.
If you go to Memphis and are just looking to get out in the timber or do some fishing, you're about an hour from Holly Springs National Forest which is a really big area with several small lakes. Or, the larger lakes of Sardis, Enid, and Grenada are all within 2 hours of Memphis and all have huge bass and crappie.

Haven't been to Memphis yet but I love New Orleans. It's right now at the top of our US places to go back to. WWII museum as was mentioned. Go on a Swamp tour. The guide will tell you about the history of the swamp and show you some of the different things there. You should see some gators on it. French Quarter checking out the different things down there. We tried a few different drinks and the food was good. We're not much on going out at night in large cities so we were there during the daytime. New Orleans has the longest trolley system in the US which we didn't know until we got there. It's cheap to ride too. Look at a map and jump on and see where it goes. The city is big into voodoo and that stuff which some of it was interesting.
There are things we want to do when we go back. A plantation tour sounds interesting and just checking out areas we didn't get to the first time.

New Orleans and you have lots of options and you can go to Gulf Port Mississippi and Biloxi which isn't far from New Orleans. Just got done spending a week in New Orleans. Tons of fun

I've worked in NOLA several times and I'm not a huge fan of the average Cajun place. That being said, a good Creole place will spoils me every time.

If it's Memphrica there are some good lakes in eastern Arkansas and west Mississippi.
