Dillrod OP trapper Joined: Jan 2008 Posts: 2,085 S/W Mich.	Its averaging around 6-7 ft tall. All the nectar lovers are working it really hard. No Hummingbirds seen . Everything from Hummingbird Moths to Bee's are present. I'm thinking a member of the thistle family as the seeds are very wind driven. As you can see in the last picture heading into the seed stage. "Some Domestication Required "

We have some similar to that around here that is a very evasive weed but doesn't grow more than 4' tall and likes old farms and such much like nettles. Common sense is a not a vegetable that does well in everyone's garden.

You'll see bees bringing in black, actually deep purple, pollen from joe pye. We are still a couple weeks away here. Kudzu is on full bloom and prickly ash just wrapped up.

Wife trapper W Joined: Aug 2015 Posts: 837 NE NE	Several species of milkweed Do Not ooze a milky sap through the stem (like the ones visited by the Monarch Butterflies) when damaged or sheared ---- Swamp Milkweed would be a common one that doesn't but the plant shown looks like Joe-pye to me.
