Took a walk about yesterday and found some new beaver/muskrat ponds, according to gps, 12 mile hike around them, but each one had at least 1 big house on it, a lot of grass being chewed off assuming by muskrat. New chews on the young pine trees. Going to be a walking trap line, due to the distance from the 2 track, to far to drag a canoe . Then stopped and picked about a gallon of wild blueberries. blueberry pancakes for breakfast.

Checked out a new location on a small river today. Spent about an hour picking up old tire and other discarded garbage out of the water. Showed the LO afterwards and he offered to pay the dump fees. Thi k I may have earned a few brownie points there.

Scout20 good deed, I don't think that anyone takes more care of the land than trappers.
Roy--At least this year we have plenty of water, almost all of the places I looked had water backed up. Hopefully we won't get so much that it blows out the dams before trapping season opens.

I figured it would be a easy thing to do since the water level is so low with our current drought conditions so why not? Took the dog along and we both had a good time of it all too!

Nope, no 4 wheels, on Forrest Service land, going cross country and a little more than a mile off the nearest open road for 4 wheelers. Couldn't cut a path if I wanted to fine for tree damage $375.00 per tree damaged. Not even allowed to cut shooting lanes.
