Today will be my final day of Chaplain internship in a major hospital in San Antonio. It's been quite an interesting time of learning amongst health care professionals. I have witnessed while here that a real health threat among Americans is obesity. It complicates everything about medical recovery should someone get ill, and kills people younger than would normally happen. Obesity is a common factor for many on our hospital gurneys. Try not to have it.
Blessings, Mark

I hadn't seen those stats IL. Wow. All I'm saying is when the doc comes in and says ok, what's going on with you.... the extra l.b.s. are not going to make anything easier for the doc. Or you.

Obesity is so prevalent in the USA and Canada that if you’re an appropriate weight you’re liable to hear about how skinny you look from a bunch of fatsos.
Kids are told to never smoke while mom keeps them addicted to processed sugar and regular fast food meals. It’s a health crisis.

Yup, I'm the obese one your talking about. 6 foot tall 300 lbs. I'm very active. Worked construction and the farm. Hunt fished trapped and raised a family. Now have great grandkids five and one years old. Been this big for decades. Guess I'm lucky I don't have the health problems you talk about colestoral, sugar etc all in check but do have elavated blood pressure but meds keep that in check. Had high blood pressure when I was a sparrow arsed youth too. Mark I know my body is my temple so I eat good foods and not fast food, fried food, candy and soda probably just to much. I thank the Good Lord for my health every day I do agree that obesity is a health threat. Now time to prep the venison roast and sweet potatoes! Bon Appetit
