I'm not a trap collector, but have fur-trapped since I was 10 years old (now 63). Saw this old trap at a flea market just north of Springfield IL today, and had to have it. Can anyone tell me any info about the trap? Maker, approximate time period, etc. Thanks for any response. I can post dimensions if needed.

this is a german trap. i also have some in my collection. it is called plate travels in germany.

Transverse pan. I agree it’s German or French. It’s old but not as old as you think. They made traps like this right up to the early 1900s.
