This is in a local in person auction so I will be able to see the condition before I decide if I am interested in bidding. My questions are what to look for condition wise and what these usually sell for on the used market? I wouldn’t pay more than 200$ for that and that’s a stretch. That thing looks to have seen some use. Yeah it definitely was well used and looks to have been stored outside. If it was an online only option I would not even be interested. But dont want to let a deal slip by even if it is well worn.

old town 16 discovery in good shape 500
that , 200 maybe 250 if it is just dirty and everything else looks in order and they toss in paddles and such
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

If you're able to put eyes on it before hand and trust it i would give $300 without remorse. Yes will see it when the doors open a couple hours before the auction starts. Thanks for the price estimate, never have been in the market for one enough to know the value. Another factor will be if they have the title for it since we have to register all watercraft here in communist Illinois.

The picture is crappy, so seeing it in person will be the deciding factor. I dont get caught up in the bidding frenzy like some people, I am good at setting a dollar amount and walking away if it goes higher. Looking like 250-300 is the general consensus and that number will change based on the inspection.

If they don't have the title, there's a good chance that your bureau of watercraft may honor the bill of sale from the auction. You might want to call the bureau of watercraft first. Keith

I have a feeling my next boat is going to be a pontoon
If I can get the wife out fishing she won't be able to complain I am not at home
pontoon with a really comfortable camping chair for her to sit and knit in while I tend 6 lines

If I wasnt on the south end of Illinois that would be worth a look. Given that asking price I may ought to shoot for 150 or less on this one.

You have to pay 6.75 percent and buyers premium gonna add to cost to . Yep the state just started the sale tax at auctions thing. And they dont have a buyers premium listed in the details, and its been a while since I bought from them but dont recall them having one. If they do it usually runs around 10% in this area.

The discos were plastic boats, what old town called crosslink 3. As such they don't command the premium a royalex boat does. There's really not much that can go wrong with the hull short of getting wrapped but even then they are known to pop back into shape with a little hear applied. The other issue is wear and rub into the center foam mat. Check the stems for that. If not to far gone a strip of kevlar felt will fix that.
All in all that looks like a 2-3 bill boat. Thank you sir, getting ready to head out for the auction now. So will definitely check those spots out.
