I don't know how anyone else feels, but to me, poaching is a different thing than illegal hunting. For example, if I shot a deer tommorow morning, I've hunted illegally, but what's the difference between shooting one now vs when they're in season? Nothing, except for the law says it's wrong. Now, if I were to shoot 20 deer tommorow, that's be a different story.

What will you say if hunting is banned all together? Look at California and their nonsense. In WY, yes the wildlife is well managed and very reasonable harvest regulations. But Scum? If someone kills a racoon in California for digging into their chicken coop, then get charged with a crime, are they scum? What about the Dad in CO that shoots a cougar near the school bus stop without permission, is he scum?
Sounds like that woman was wrong but its not stealing. Dont let jealousy cloud your judgement. Instead of likening her to a burglar cause she killed some non threatened wildlife, make sure fence sitters know that is not common behavior or condoned by most all hunters.

FWIW I would like to see burglars go to prison but around here it never happens. In fact they rarely get caught.

In Michigan it seems the deer belong to the Quality Deer Management groups and their friends in our Department of Natural Resources. Don't even ask who the bobcat belong to in Michigan....

Poaching is killing game when you do not have the right to do so. Yes-all scum.It is simple to acquire the right-buy a licence or get a permit(for protection of property) Sustainability of the resource depends on it.

I've got no problem with somebody killing a deer to put food on the table. I have a problem with poaching for profit. She was unethical and obviously felt that she was above the law.
