I bought logger max boots from red wing and they are pretty good boots but I went to order another pair and the don’t know when they will get the glue to start production, I’m not a fan of them not made in the USA and I was looking for some made here I found white boots in Washington and wondered if anyone here had and experience with them, also I was wondering if there was a boot maker closer to Iowa? Here are the boots I wear and the ones I’m looking at.

Whites are a booger to break in. Per Whites, approx 80 hours. Look up the Whites Bite. They are owned by the LaCross conglomerate if that means anything to anyone and they are not even close to what they used to be. Drew’s, Wesco, Nicks, Franks, Hoffman’s. These are a few NW boot makers, small shop operations. I wear Drew’s and Wesco, neither are cheap or fast, but they wear like iron and can be rebuilt for a fraction. If you need corks, don’t go with Wesco, their nails are real spendy and proprietary.

Talk to some local loggers and linemen in your area. If there’s a good local boot maker, they’ll know.

The loggermax is China assembled, I was told by the red wing store that their USA made logger boot was no longer made, but that was one store and weather they were giving me a line or not I don’t know it was this spring when a bunch of stuff was shut down.

I guess I missed where whites was owned by the lacrosse group and I’m not a fan of them with some of the things they’ve done, the worst part here we don’t have any logging, and the linemen I know wear flat soled boots hiking type boot that they buy off a truck, needless to say if it wasn’t for the safety department requiring them to pass the climbing test they probably wouldn’t remember what a pair of climbing spikes looked like.

Custom fit. They are expensive, take a while to order, fit and receive. Best boots you will ever own. I wear mine all day, every day.

I wore Whites cowboy packer for 10 years. Great boot but recently ordered Nick's Builder Pro. Now the wait begins.

I've got some White Smoke jumper / logger boots but I've had them for close to 10 year's and had them resoled and new heals once so far .
If I had to buy another pair I'd go with Wesco even my family members wore them when the White store was closer .

One thing I'll strongly suggest is using Obermeyer boot wax on what ever you get like most of the boots mentioned the wax is a bargain !

My brand of choice also. Spent a fair amount of time on poles in gaffs with my Hoffman’s. Their logging series of traditional leather boots are offered with vibram or caulks, I believe.

Bought a pair of Thurgood boots last year.
Very well made and comfortable.

swampgas chili and schmidt beer makes for a deadly combo

Thanks for all the inputs they all have what looks like to be quality boots and I’m going to give nicks a call and possibly a try them, the reason I choose them because they have a steel toe, with a sprung toe, I’ve found if I wear a flat soled shoe now I catch my toe constantly and with the sprung toe I don’t do that, Allan I think I’m going to go to that wax now I’ve been using red wing boot oil and it just doesn’t seem to work as good as it used to.

Is it Obermeyer or Obenauf's?

I'll offer a second endorsement for the Hoffman boots. Idaho-based company - top notch quality and crazy comfortable. Very, very good boots.
