Ison is my favorite early black. A large domestic with the taste of a wild muscadine.
Early Fry and Pam are my favorite bronze. I’ve had Ison. They were good, but he has developed some that have much better flavor than his Ison variety in my opinion. Of course my taste could be different than yours. Either way, Ison is the king of Muscadine development

Spent a many a September Sunday afternoon climbing trees with muscadine vines in them when I was a kid. I knew where all the best vines were. Carried a bunch home in a lard bucket with a homemade bailing wire handle with a hook so I could hang it in the tree while I was picking. The resulting jams or jellies went great on hot biscuits with breakfast. Yea, I am an Old Fart!
