A friend of mine used to joke that he liked going to Burger King for a breakfast burrito. It was great he said , " I get my burrito made by a real Mexican ! "

Indiana minimum wage is $7.25 , so McDonald's $15 starting wage is more than double minimum wage. There are factories around here that don't pay that. Most stores here have upped the pay and raised prices considerably to compensate. I guess what bothers me , is the attitudes of the employees these days. Most of them have horrible attitudes, ignore you when you are needing assistance, act like you're burdening them if you do get one to help you, aren't skilled ,knowledgeable or maybe haven't been trained properly to do the job the have etc. Used to be people that had jobs around here even lower paying jobs were more friendly and knowledgeable and offered better service and appreciated having their job. Even if the person didn't like the job they had they still did it correctly and didn't give the customer an attitude. I feel like I fell asleep and woke up to a world I no longer recognize.

Young people do not have a clue what their group insurance, disability, life insurance, and matching 401k benefits are worth later in life. I do. Used them all except for the life insurance.

My 16 year old nephew…just got his license and drove to TARGET over the summer. And landed a part time job at 15.00 per hour

I saw $15 starting pay at McDonald's and $14 at a fast station last weekend both with benefits! Kinda makes me feel left out working myself to death welding for $25 and no benefits. I'd be better off ringing a register in the AC

$15 per hour sounds like a lot but if you are working 24 hours a week, you need to find another job with nearly the same pay and hours in the times we live in today.

Many of these McDonalds are scraping the bottom for help.People don't want to work while they are getting free government handouts. It is time to stop that. If you don't work ,you don't eat.Welfare should be only for those truly in need, not the lazy bums.

I stopped at our local md's today. No front counter anymore. All kiosk now. Each time an order is ready one of yhe workers appears in a little passage way and yells out the number. As you approach they set it on a small counter and disappear.

I ordered one of their chik-fillet copy sandwiches. One freakin pickle.
Pretty soon it will either be vending machines or one person cooking and slopping the food on a walk through buffet.

You are paying for "fast" but maybe not much "food" Could be a profitable trend and with thousands of other eatery places closed for now or good, options are becoming less. Kind of interesting that a place selling an $8 meal in a bag can hire a $15 low quality employee and a restaurant that charges double, triple or quad triple that can not pay even a minimum wage. Sit down restaurants must be one of the least efficient businesses in our culture.
