Where do u hammer on h stands as not a place hammer on them ? Not really made for it? Of course all mine h stands are almost all very old an some bent up from years use, some are dbl bar but lot single bar , I use kb stands in water an set bottom an bend springs down into stream bottom some to hold in place but s kb stands on land ? There not anchor into ground, animal hit trap an trap an stand move , there lite weight , also. Trap as 220 be to low ground on kb stands , I heard some weld fence post to kb stands an lay in mud in culvert for coon , I have never use kb stands for coon ,I have hh dz an use rat, mink , beaver or had few otter in them with 330 in water in run , if ur trap in froze ground, I would use stakelizer, 1/2 rerod an 18 inch long , tangs weld on top for trap , the price on them has quadruple since I bought them when first start see them at trapper supply

Did you even look at the link I provided coonman220? You can hit each side of the top a little at a time until they are in as far you want. In fact they work even better in hard ground, as they are solid with only a couple inches in the ground.

If your worried about hammering on the stand, take a piece of 3/8" rebar and start a pilot hole or better yet a 20v DeWalt drill with a long bit.
