We have had missionaries/NGOs helping in Africa as long as I can remember food, water, housing, medical mercy ships have been there forever what have they done for us is my question?

I'd say the current governments had nothing to do with slavery but they do control precious resources. Thats why we should be concerned about influence.

As far as slaves are concerned.....those human resources woukd be no different than the tea that the east provided to the west other than that by them being human resources it has caused great division and struggle in the Americas. We don't owe Africa anything for slavery. If anything we need to continue the struggle to unite as a unique people made up of various races and ethnic groups.

Many of the slave traders were blacks selling other Blacks back then, Alaska was not even a State if that somehow matters. LOL I have no problem with helping out others in less fortunate places. Just charging me 3Gs and my insurance even more then give away the same service thousands of miles away for free seems unbalanced.

Health care was somewhat affordable before we got the affordable care act....they got away with that farce and cost lots of people 3x more.....now they have gotten away with much more and they continue to screw the USA. Seems like they are working on humiliating/degrading the military right now..our military might is what keeps the dollar as the default currency..

The ACA not only raised prices it caused a decrease in coverage and preventive benefits so it cost more then a guy thinks now. My guess a lot was taken away from paid coverage to save on the ACA requiring them to give away the same coverage then.

The ones that wanted it would not pay for it, the ones that needed it could not afford it and the free ones come out the best like always. I see ads with people bragging the don’t have any premiums to pay it just warms my heart knowing that!

Africa is the fastest growing market and with 1.5 billion people it has twice as many as North America has and growing fast. China has been funding infrastructure in many areas of Africa for decades. The see markets and resources and are willing to invest. We hear a lot about subsaharan Africa and yes there are many issues with that region but there is a lot of Africa with resources and assets that China can use. I am sure Russia is entering because they are as afraid of China as any one is.

Yup. China's OBOR project is to make these African nation indebted to them for their infrastructure projects. They them use that for leverage in order to have exclusive naval and shipping ports and rights to resources.

America did something similar after WWII with the rebuilding of Europe and Japan.

They are successful capitalists.
They can do what they want with their money including reducing their tax liability by writing off a large chunk thru altruistic methods.

Successful capitalists give away money all the time usually for that reason.
