Paul, you are in the ball park at $80.

I'd take 80 in the country any day before $100 at auction before commission and shrinkage.

Can't speak for him, but, not sure he wants to go that route. There's nothing like "authentic".

Seems like most lures go flat when the ingredients start going synthetic.

At $80 a pound your going to look hard for a better market no shrinkage deduction, no grading games, minimal wait for payment

I have a local buyer that is competitive with Paul but that is as good as it gets.

You could get $90 straight run in the country in May if you looked around. Don’t know what it is now other than what Paul is offering. I’m curious where the North/South castor line is. Probably has more to do with diet than strictly location.

The synthetic lure ingredients never measure up to the real stuff in my experience. More and more lures are being made with them. After awhile you can start to figure out which lure makers are relying more on synthetics to advance the profits and for the convenience but they will never admit it.

Pretty sure he was talking about glands from OTHER critters.

Paul, bought a couple bottles of Backbreaker at local retailer this afternoon.
Was afraid your post would start a run on it before season. grin

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

I believe the development of a northern version of back breaker would be perfect.

Any guesses why Bob Wilsons NORTHERN beaver lure is/was desired? Stronger scent?

I think you will get plenty of northern castors available.

Good luck with that.

Bossman Dobbins,

will you be buying northern castor at
the NYSTA convention this coming weekend
at Herkimer ?

If so, I will bring you some.

I’d say 80 dollars works pretty well, but with all this talk of castor as I’m sitting here I’m beginning to smell castor and Backbreaker, the power of suggestion is amazing.
