Youngest daughter and I pulled a little pile of baby reds and whites today. Love to see your garden potatoes!

This was a harvest from 5 or 6 years ago. I used to plant 50lbs. of Kennebeck seed and 25lbs. of left over potatoes from the previous year. I only plant 25 lbs now and my latest harvest was only 3 bushel or about a third of what you see in this pic.

I actually dug those two rows in July. The reds do not keep well and the others were yukon golds which are thin skinned also. I just dug my Kennebecs which I will give as many to our church folks as they want and store three or four bushels for ourselves. I had about ten bushels total of those. I did not take a picture but here are the plants in July....

Somebody posted here years ago about a ratio of how many pounds you plant vs. the harvest. In his mind if you got 5 times the weight of the starts you were doing well.

I grew them for ten years at the farm and always did well above that so I was happy. Next year I'll grow them here in the new place.

Nothing like good potatoes from the garden. They taste like potatoes... funny thing.

Pete
