As in the name of lures and traps etc. Ya know marketing. Paul’s Backbreaker thread got me thinking about it ( Backbreaker is a ridiculously great name for a trapping product). Love it or hate Locklear’s Alcatraz was clever. Whatcha got?

Money cannot buy you happiness, but it can buy you a trapping license and that's pretty close.

Montgomery's Digger trap was a pretty good name, even though I don't think it was ever very popular. But who wouldn't want a trap to catch those pesky diggers?

I love telling people two items I use and they look at me like I am crazy.
Lee's, - Death Ray
Kendall's - NO-BS Extreme
Two weeks ago in bear camp I had them going that I had a death ray for dispatch. LOL so gullible.

I think it was Asa who once said a lot of lures are better at catching a trapper than an animal (or something to that effect). It was a discussion like this on names or labels or something.
Makes a lot of sense. That said, I'm a sucker for a cool name or a well written lure description that promises secret rare exotic ingredients or being the best _____ lure on the market that 1,000's of govt trappers swear by. Yup, the descriptions are what get me. I always seem to that lure will be the magic one

The "Walloper" by Diamond Brand is an outrageous name for a very unique, over-engineered, crazy looking trap. Lure, " Backbreaker". It's name grabs your imagination and works extremely well, me and this lure go way... back now also!
Let's go Brandon!

I've been starting to develop a bait called "Hoser" I know, i know, it's pretty early for me to start making baits but it's fun.

Too early to sell them maybe. But look at the Kaatz brothers. I think they were in their very young teens when they started their lure business and look at them now.

I make Payback baits, its the ingredients, things typically eaten by the predators, that are getting Payback when they catch the critters. My buddy named my Cherry Bend-Over bait, not sure what he had in mind but I say its cherry/fish based and you gotta bend over to put in it the DPs or pockets. I always liked the names sweetwater flattail, boar's delight, Huson Seal and of course Backbreaker as mentioned.
