my dad uses it , there is a how many feet deep you get per color I he runs from 6-12 color he runs it mostly with planer boards to get out away from the boat and also down
it is supposed to be about 5 feet deep per color
trolling speed , current , and lure change this
so a 6 color should be down about 30 feet and a 10 color down 50 feet
great for getting a good spread from 10 to about 30 feet maybe down as low as 45 or 50
get mainly rainbows , coho and some chinook on the boards
I have to admit I don't know how many colors he has been putting out lately , I drive and he and my son set lines the last several times we have been out.
I don't think he ever puts out less than 3 collors then the board

I don't know much about it other than when you got it set 60-80 feet out and 60-80 feet down it's a pain to reel back up.
You don't notice it much when reeling in a fish. But you will when reeling it in empty.

if you want I can check with my dad and see what his preferred brand is
he uses it for trolling on Lake Michigan I don't think his boat has seen any other water since he bought it. it takes a wide load permit to move it so it stays in it's slip when not in winter storage.

I use it a ton for trolling for walleyes and love it. I would recommend and 8 to 8 1/2 foot rod with a line counter reel as well. Also recommend using the Suffix brand. Tie on a swivel and about a 6ft fluorocarbon or mono leader. Makes life easier when you don't have to attached a dipsy diver or bottom bouncer etc to the line to fish at depth. Remember KISS... keep it simple stupid I have both , I like suffix line also, thanks

I've had replacement spools sitting in the my rod building shop for a few years but the old stuff has yet to fail once. There are a few 30lb+ flatheads on that line and always perform flawlessly

I have used wire line.
We rig flounder gill net with lead line on the bottom, but it is rope.

Buzzy, look into the Precision Trolling app for your phone, it works really well, I use it all the time with braid and lead core line.
