I just heard about this, one of the proposed lines goes about 5 miles north of me, I’m not sure if they use steel pipe or some from of plastic but if it does go through it would give at least some of the people who work on pipelines a job.

I wonder how much co2 is created building the pipeline? I've heard of some coal plants in ND thinking of somehow pushing carbon back into the earth. Kind of interesting, but I wonder how much is to keep their shareholders happy.

I don't know much about it yet but the proposed path goes through 4 quarters of my land. Including within a quarter mile of my house. The guy that came around getting permission for them to survey the path didn't know squat about how things are supposed to work as far as the pipeline except they want to pump the co2 from ethanol plants into old oil fields and salt caverns.

If this is the master plan to lower carbon emissions consider me skeptical.

Carbon dioxide is an important component of tertiary recovery in old depleted oil fields. Some reservoirs demonstrate incredible increases in recovery of oil. Carbon dioxide with small amounts of water can be extremely corrosive. The pipeline will most certainly be constructed of precisely engineered materials.

Stewie that’s really close, I agree with Kansas cat it has something to do with oil, because with the people involved money has to be made somewhere it’s not just for the environment.
