At least you’re ok it could have been much worse cameras are probably the best but at least put in motion activated lights so someone may see it, not to mention some people run when exterior lights come so it might help. Exterior lights only help criminals, they do not need a flashlight

Yup 4 partial fingerprints recovered. I was shocked they dusted for prints. They popped the lock on the rear passenger door of the truck. PD said they never get calls for my neighborhood.
Lol. Move... It took all of 2020 to get an offer accepted. Housing markets are still insane right now. Plus my interest rate wouldn't be this low.
I've hardly had anyone here because the fire happened early on. I am impressed they even dusted so many places if you aren't able to say when you call over 10K was stolen they don't even dispatch an officer. makes you wonder how many cops live in your neighborhood probably cameras before you do much more replacing of stuff
America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

Sorry for your loss. My wife is on me all the time about locking my pickup at night. We do lock the house now but I just can’t get into the habit of locking the vehicles

GCP, me too. I have no clue but it took 3.5 hours for csi to get here. I didn't mind the wait if it leads to getting him arrested. Yup I'll be looking at cameras tomorrow. My neighbor caught chunks of the incident on his cameras. I am impressed with them. Google Nest cameras allow you to rotate/ move the recorded video while playing a saved video. He sent me some of the footage. Some footage shows him going to a neighbor's house and trying to get in his truck then he goes to my truck. Pawnee, it took him about 15 seconds to access my truck. He got in around 0515 came back about 45 minutes later. Usually I'm up by 0600 0630 at the latest but twice this week I slept in. One was Wed and then today. I so wish I would have caught him inside my home. He is the luckiest person today. He should be in icu at the least. This is one of maybe 2 cars involved. Various cars passed by him loading my stuff up. Can anyone tell me the make and model? I thinking a Buick or Ford fusion. He is parked in front of a neighbor's house, my house is to the left of the car. View is from neighbor actors the street. My new pressure washer is popping the trick m trunk up

Sorry to hear, lots of ways to make entry less easy, your not thinking deep enough about doing them. They make it uncomfortable for you as well, but they will stop easy entry.
First one is to make doors barred from the inside with hanging mounts with 2X4's easy and quite effective one on top on the bottom, can't hardly kick one in, separate your rooms with more security so its not so easy to move thru the home. Install more motion sensor lighting inside as well !
Thieves hate light, there are all kinds of cheap motion sensor lights, battery operated or solar, that work great for discouraging entry's, you can place them up out of reach and still be activated by motion.
Re-evaluate your friendships and what they know about you and your circumstances, this sounds like a hit done before with some one knowing your patterns, trust no one about how you do things or come and go.
Which is another thing you need to change, you might be to regular in your patterns of home and gone, mix it up.
Can't afford an alarm, can't trust your pet to make any noise, it's to friendly, get an ankle biter they bark at bugs, most any small dog can't be shut up unless you make them, by then your awake and should be aware what's going on before reaching the animal, yes the ankle biters stays inside, ain't no good out in a dog kennel or the garage.
Wish you luck, I'm a very light sleeper in the back of our home and can still hear a car go by in the dead of night, if they enter my home they are not going to get out easily when they meet me !
Sorry if my opinions or replies offend you, they are not meant to !

You can see him noticing the cameras. From the looks of it he was probably on something

Happy no one was injured, however I don't assume much when it comes to thieves breaking and entering, it shows they are feeling very well about the entry. Also feel you may be taking much for granted with your descriptions about how things go down
He may be just as educated about you or more so than you realize and have cased you and others out already.
I have been robbed a couple times in my life, while not at home, it taught me things have to change to stop it from happening again.
And I did many of the things suggested which either made things change for them or they moved on because of the challenge exceeded their bravado.
The worst thing you can do is nothing, and just assume things will not escalate further. You get out and do things to your place and if he is close by he will know you know and are trying to do something about it. There is a reason others have cameras, personally I get offended when people call me up to look at my camera footage when something happens at their place, they just take it for granted my protection is for everyone, while it helps everyone, only I pay for it !!
