Does any one know what this is? The vine leaves look like squash, but not the fruit.

A Google search showed something similar but not exact. It is a curious looking squash. The previous property owner was of some oriental decent. There was a coy pond and Japanese persimmon also. Bitter melon makes sense. Are they good to eat?

Try googling "orange bitter melon". It's edible but not sure how it tastes.

I've seen some variety of gourds that have an outside texture similar to that. Gourds, squash, pumpkins and other stuff in that family (melons??) seem to hybridize pretty easily; if that's the case who knows what it could be.
