Folks....I just turned 62 on 9/1. With Both knees replaced and not turning out good ( scar tissue got me ) I dont think I can work till 65. Would some of you age 62-65 be willing to share how much you are paying per month for health insurance
( ball park ) and names of insurance Company's that you went with ? Trying to buy a good policy to get me to the Magical age of 65 when I can go on SS. Thanks. MD

If you can’t work see if you can get disability if you qualify for it that’s your best bet for coverage.

Went through the same thing awhile back. It is just hard to find anything affordable.

I got SS disability at 62 without a lawyer. Turned down twice but the administrative law judge granted it.

I had good medical records to submit. MRI results also.

Find yourself an experienced insurance agent specializing in health insurance options, be honest and determine your needs. The Affordable Care Act says you need a "silver" plan, but there are options. The government pandemic response has reduced premiums significantly for this year ... near year, who knows; but you have to ask, insurance companies aren't automatically reducing rates.

My monthly insurance rate this year was less, with better coverage, than the social security rate the gov charges when I turn 65.

I Talked to 2 SS Disability lawyers. They said they would not take my case. Even though I can barely walk and I drive a scooter in Mfg Management job. Lawyers said I would never whin my case. To much college the SS ruling board would say. They would say I could get a sit down job. So I was just wondering here what guys were paying at age 62-65 while on SS. MD
