OP must move in bad circles. I don't know anyone who has a felony conviction. Its not hard to avoid getting a felony conviction. In fact its easy, just obey the law.
Depriving convicted felons of rights given others is a good thing. We all know that most don't spend enough time behind bars as is. At least they loose gun rights and voting rights. If it was up to me they would loose other rights depending upon their crimes. Its all part of the carrot and the stick.
Notice how the paper makes Evers seem reasonable when comparing him to other Gov's.
"A spokesperson for Evers’ office said he will likely pardon more people than any governor since the 1970s. Former Wisconsin Democratic Gov. Jim Doyle granted more than 300 pardons during his eight years in office, and former Republican Gov. Tommy Thompson issued 238 pardons.
Evers’ predecessor, Republican Gov. Scott Walker, did not issue any pardons during his eight years in office. Evers changed that course in October 2019, issuing the first four pardons in nine years."
They mention Doyle was gov. for 8 years and did more than 300 pardons. Thompson pardoning 238 but don't list the time in office. Thompson was WI longest serving Gov. at 14 years.
SO lets look at this in a comparable way instead of the typical fake news medias way.
Evers pardons 99/yr
Doyle pardons 38/yr
Thompson pardons 17/yr
Walker pardons 0/yr
why do Dem's pardon multiple more felons than R's do?
