So I've got a coon job going now with 11 coons caught, 3 kittens 1 sow the rest boars. Plus 3 opposums.

This in a market where I might get a call for one or two coons a year and that is typically a sow with kittens in an attic.

This one is coons flipping sod. In a high end residential area of Atlanta, Buckhead specifically. First in 15 years for flipping sod for me.

The area is wooded with houses packed cheek to jowl on half acre lots.

I suspect local feeders and prior experience with cages as I had initial reluctance to enter cages.

Other than possible feeders what's is the draw to this particular location?

What's under the sod they are going after? Other than that good habitat/getting pushed out of theirs by developers and/or a good food source I have nothing.

Well maybe they were caught before and released in that area is another possibility.

sometimes you'll see where skunks were digging in yards to get grub worms. Maybe grubs?

I did a job at a golf course where they were flipping sod. They are after the grubs.

Its definitely grubs and the homeowner keeps the area saturated.

I can usually figure out if it a one time deal don't worry about it or if the client can expect to have a regular problem.

Its beginning to look like a regular problem. I'd like to nip that in the bud.

I've seen this at golf courses as well. Usually raccoons and skunks doing it but I've seen badgers do it too. Grubs is usually the reason but many don't realize cicadas is a food source for these diggers as well.

Simply apply grub control to eliminate the grubs should solve the digging. And the digging was the reason for the call right.

Repeat business can also be profitable though.

Food source change. I don't see much raccoon grubbing here aa they have other food sources this time of year.

I never see grubbing here. To much other food. Also I'm not licensed for pest control.
