This thread is a hoot. Trying to decipher some of this reminds me of "no child left behind" some years ago.
Sorry......I can't help myself shocked

@ coonman220,

Did you ever get your lawnmower fixed? I gave advice on that one. Your snowblower problem can wait.

Coonman220 ought not to quit his day job. The way things are going , he will need to get a 2nd full time job.

Officials said that the Old-Age and Survivors trust fund is now able to pay scheduled benefits until 2033, one year earlier than reported last year. That's right!! Social Security will not be able to pay out the full amount owed each Month after year 2033.

Working 2 full time jobs , 16 hours a day , 7 days a week. Coonman220 will have plenty of money to buy a top of the line BRAND NEW SNOWBLOWER !! grin

I look at it by labor day an see if possibly figgure it out but if not the sheer pins, which is not , the worn belt still runs the impeller an if that goes I believe the sugar has to turn by power it, unless that key in the shaft or whatever powers auger bfore it there a key , not really cotter pin that broke , it Been over year since look, only thing could be us auger gear box an at $190 shipped an as hard as is to install , not sure if we'll get fix unless sure can get it myself

Dave.....think back to your lawnmower and all the trouble you had with cheap parts. Now think about your lawnmower again.

Now think about what you just asked about parts for your snow blower. Do you really want to put yourself through it all again?

Either spend the money on the right parts or scrap it and buy new.

Dave, you can likely buy 3 used snow blowers for $190.00 in better condition than the one you have now.

Keep your eyes open and check craigslist, Facebook marketplace (if you can) and auctions often. 3 years ago I got a 2 year old 26" snowblower for $150 bucks.

Yes, junk your old snowblower out. You should avoid having emotional attachment to machines. You don't owe your snow blower, your air conditioner and your trucks anything. You should do a cost benefits analysis when deciding whether to fix or junk a machine.

My girlfriend's dad, when I was in college, was emotionally attached to a piece of crap, rusted out, green van. The passenger side door fell off it while he was driving once. The sliding door was held closed with a string. One of the bench seats was broken off and replaced by lawn chairs that were strapped to the floor. He replaced the transmission twice. He replaced the engine once. He spent thousands of dollars and dozens of hours trying to keep it running. He could have bought several, much nicer vehicles, for what he wasted on it.

Probly have blow $200 on part plus order 2 belts in case needed , otherwise it close to be fairly new condition, I research an common problem junk augar gear box, not go order part yet as lots other things rather have money for like truck , should got part a year ago, keep look around a little for where find used parts , snowblower lawnmower repair shop have junk out stuff lay around ? None of 2 local ones do an quoted price if $300 plus part at one an other say $90 plus part , I keep look around a lil while , go cheaper shop an be much bigger bill than quoted, I install myself, don't look that hard if careful, must hit hard chunk ice, I would think bearings on sides augur or ends ok , have grease them when put in
