Today. Had 3 semi’s loaded when I got there this morning. Started getting them into elevator to get dumped. Didn’t slow down until 6pm when elevator closed. No break downs today thank goodness. [Linked Image]

Nothing here yet. That is the most red I have seen in a long, long time. Yields?

Had a lot of flooded out stuff in the fields we’ve been in so far. Where there ain’t flood damage the yield is probably bouncing around 180-210 an acer. Moisture running 14-19. Pretty much all this on high sand soils.

How in heck are you harvesting corn in September? Most is green as a gourd yet!

Good luck. Test cutting here. Most corn is a week off. The high moisture guys have been running for a couple weeks.

There is a lot more early maturing corn these days than there used to be.

Corn harvest will be wide open starting Monday. The moisture is running 19-22. Yields between 170-220. The well drained fields are out yielding the flatter fields that did not drain as well. We have been running everything through a dryer. A few more days and when the moisture is 17-18 we will start air drying with a fan only.

Yep same here. Except there are some fields that are drought effected from this summer lack of rain.

By mid August they were already golden, ready to pick.

Running corn here wide open. Dry hot weather and its good to go. Of course the dryers are wide open but got to get it when you can. 90 % of the corn in my county is raised be 3 big farmers. Beans are dropping leaves some already shed. One field by my house has been run.

September 12th and yes we are going hard and fast on silage. About 60% or more of our 75K acres of corn here go for silage. Yield will be good but not records. We have a lot of late season disease pressure causing some real fast dry down on the lower levels and leaves of our corn. The high heat and later summer heavy rains have created a good environment for disease. We have most corn with good protection for many spring and early summer issues but not so much for this late summer stuff and it seems to be very wide spread. Won't impact the number of kernels but could really impact kernel depth and fill and test weights. We will need to wait and see.

They have been shelling corn here for about a week. I’ve not heard any yields but was told by the guys that farm ours 17 percent.

Looks like he needs another year;-)

Still finishing silage up here. Some high moisture corn has come off, but not much. Ran a field of beans, 12% and around 60 boo or better.

ran into big field today that had late season fungicide applied to it. Moisture jumped up to 20 but we kept shelling. Said test weight will make up the dock on the moisture. Get up and do it again tomorrow.

They've been cutting corn here since the middle of August. Farmers say it was a great yield for them this year

Gotta live up to the nickname...

Hopefully the price of corn will come down a notch. Great to hear harvest is going well so far.

We just finished our 88 day corn yesterday it was running 20 percent and what wasn’t froze went from 150 to 220, what froze this spring was about 140, then we tried the 98 day and it’s averaging 30 so we’re going to wait a little while on it, if we can get it down to a 25 percent average then it’s a lot easier to dry it.
