Brushes burn up once a tool has been used a lot and it’s just one less thing to go wrong.

My vote goes to either ryobi with big 4.0 amp hr batteries if you wait until Home Depot has ryobi stuff on sale you can get a smoking deal I got one with two big batteries half inch chuck for 99$
Or a rigid I work with both these brands and something about the rigid tools I prefer I just can’t tell what it is.

I use ryobi tools daily and I am hard on them. Very happy with performance and price.

I now own rigid but switched from Ryobi. The Ryobi set goes on sale quite often band I need mine for work. They last good (many years) but they didn't offer a hammer drill in a combo at a good.price.and rigid did.

Wish I had more time to trap....

Ryobi has used the same battery forever, I pick up their older tools without the battery at garage sales for 5 bucks a piece all the time, Ryobi for me for the cheap old tools

this may help

I have been happy with my Rigid set , just register it right away for the warranty

it depends a lot on what you want to do

drills just don't make good drivers , that is why the impact is so handy , also you can drill your holes and then drive your fasteners without removing the bit and putting in the driver bit

America only has one issue, we have a Responsibility crisis and everything else stems from it.

My Brother, Sons and myself have always used Dewalt but they have switched to Milwaukee. Don't let the 18 volt think they're inferior. My Dewalt tools are still hanging in there.

Life ain't supposed to be easy.

sort of depends who is running what sale

199.99 for the drill and impact 2 batteries and charger Rigid only 2AH batteries https://www.homedepot.com/p/RIDGID-...89hR5bbiOxoC-lYQAvD_BwE&gclsrc=aw.ds

229.99 for same from Milwakee https://www.homedepot.com/p/Milwauk...REC-_-pipsem-_-312396773-_-305491315-_-N

249.00 for the Dewalt but with 4AH batteries
https://www.homedepot.com/p/DEWALT-...REC-_-pipsem-_-312396773-_-304051266-_-N

then if you will need more batteries , go battery shopping it can make a difference there are so many that fit but are the old lower amp hour you have to watch it carefully

Don't overlook the Harbor Freight Hercules series of tools. They are extremely strong and from my experience very reliable. Used my set building our fellowship hall a few years ago and still going strong today. I really like them.

Old enough to know better, but dumb enough to still try.
