Once upon a time, I could have found the end of the crack, drilled a hole and ground out a place to fill with a copper/nickel rod. Maybe could have brazed it on a bell housing on a tranny or transfer case too if I could burn all of the oil out. Those skills perishable and my eyes don't focus as well anymore.
I'm just a soul whose intentions are good. O Lord please don't let me be misunderstood.

Yes, burning oil can clog a convertor. You didn't here this from me, but just bust out the insides, weld the crack, and hope for the best. Doing that here in NY it wouldn't pass the emissions test and would fail your next inspection. I miss the days when you could take the CC out and replace it with a test tube.

Oil doesn't break down after 500 miles unless you are using vegetable oil. The thing either burns oil or.it doesn't. I have seen vehicle burn oil on long trips and not on short due to heat cycles but not just at certain miles.
Wish I had more time to trap....

Probly as seem burn it more at times than others, all the cracks appear in same spot, on one spot on cat where go manifold , hope don't happen anytime soon as if does, it be goodbye, still not much oil burn until more miles after oil change, has be oil get more used an broken down, lots ppl around that rarely or never change oil , wouldn't want but there vechile, should be change more often then they recommend , especialy motor oil an auto trans fluid 2 ND important

Look at the oil stick. If it is below the add oil mark, you need to add oil.
FYI, I add oil when I do an oil change. Other than that, I drive until it’s time for an oil change.

How much it burns/leaks depends on how often you'll need to check the oil. Maybe once a week, maybe once a day. If the dipstick shows it's low, add however much it says to add. Don't want to mess around and run it down too low for sure.
