Flew into the picture window and knocked himself silly LOL.
Got him gathered up to rest where the neighborhood cats couldn't get him and he flew off after about 1/2 hour

Cool save. Props.

Good save. Around here I'd call it a finch of some kind.

Sometimes birds have a lil too much to drink.

Sgt c. I'm hoping not. She closed her mouth and started acting normally before flying off. I was concerned about the open mouth but am trying to tell myself she's doing fine.

It's some type of warbler. If you look at the beak, you can very clearly see it's a softbill species not a hard bill species like a finch. The beaks are made for eating very different food. The bird in the picture has a long, thin beak made for grasping insects and fruit. Finches and other seed eaters have short, heavy beaks designed for cracking and peeling hard shelled seed.

It also appears to be a male, not a female.

I would guess it's a Winter warbler.

I believe they are called a yellow rumped warbler too. They are the only warbler that commonly stays in the more Northern parts of the country, during the winter.

Not wishing to state the obvious; But, it appears to lack a yellow rump.

Forgive my poking my nose in. But, dare I humbly suggest Pine Warbler?

This is a warbler, looks to me like a Female or juvie Bay-breasted, could possibly be a Pine also.

Well done! i was up along the Mississippi River in west Alton just screwin' around and saw something fluttering in the woods. I slopped thru the muck and Poison Ivey and found a small bird had some how got it's head jammed into a knot hole, Jiggled it out and before I released it, the little SOB bit me! LOL

I rescued a groundhog once with a rusty can stuck on its head. I had it restrained with my Ketch-All pole. As I cut the can off its head , it went for me , but I was ready.

Ungrateful lil beastie.........lol
