Drove up to Dundee store yesterday and not much different than Columbus store. Hardly any trapping stuff and only caven lure. Did have pretty nice taxidermy collection and aquarium. [Linked Image]

You were right in my backyard. Cabela's has went downhill a lot since bass pro took over. No more gun library or used gun racks. The bargain cave is ruined and the whole store has crappy bass pro products.

It was built when I was about your sons age. The taxidermy and aquariums were the greatest things in the world to me.

What ever happened to the Cabela's original family members starting up their own outlet again?

I don't know about original family members starting up but I can tell you fact there are several that were upper management that have their own companies or online store businesses.

Cableas hasn't had much in there for 6-7 years and they're not interested in ordering in guns like they were before (ex. You wanted a special edition for a manufacturer that was available). In Minnesota I go to scheels or fleet farm now if for any things I may need.

He said that was the best part for him also.

We used to make the 3 hour drive to Hamburg PA about twice a year. Then they built a smaller Cabelas in DE, right across the river from us - just as their selection went to crap. Every time I go there half the stuff I need is out of stock. I end up ordering stuff online anyway so we've stopped going.
