Sponsored a table at an Ducks Unlimited dinner last night. My daughter Lila selected the duck band that won the Ducks Unlimited handgun of the year for her mother. A Kimber .45. Nice haul and a great dinner!

Nice catch

Sweet! I chair my local DU chapter, and am working hard getting ready for our banquet in a couple weeks.
I also have a blonde haired daughter named Lila about the same age as yours!

Trapdog I appreciate all the hard work you guys put into these events! Donors get all the praise but the hands on deck are the ones who are the hero's of the day. Lila turned 13 this week. She had a blast!

Thanks guys! Funny story when we got to the dinner I asked my two youngest were they team dad or mom? Lila picked mom. So we split up and spent a little money. Team mom won! Grace and I did win a couple cool auction items. A nice chair and knife set. Not pictured are wind chimes and bird house. Man it was nice to be out and about again!

Very nice, congratulations!

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Those are great prizes. Congrats.

I worked on duck and turkey fundraising dinner committees for many years and saw a gradual decline in the quality of raffle and auction items due to too many dinners in an area.

Fundraising is important, but the dinners are great to bring folks together.

Enjoy the Kimber, that's a great piece.

Pete

Thanks all it was a great night out! After the Covid lock down each night out is more appreciated. Only able to get 4 of 6 daughters to this event. Apparently young fit cowboys riding bulls are a better sell to get them home.

Pete I do agree with you. My local Sons of American Legion chapter jumped on the gun raffle dinner band wagon. And it can be scrap by or feast for a fundraiser. This time of year I can go to some kind of dinner twice a week! and then you are competing with bear season, deer season openers, the local last horse ride event, etc.... People are either picking or choosing events or going to them all with a lot less money in their pockets. Result is a lot more ten dollar decks and less 20 dollar decks of cards. Now I live in the sticks. I have been to city events when you are talking 50 dollar and up raffles. Point is it can burn it self out if not thoughtfully planned. This dinner was great and did well because people wanted to come together again as you mentioned.
