I love the smell of burning spruce---I love the sound of a spring time goose---I love the feel of 40 below---from my trapline I will never go!

J.Morse trapper J Joined: May 2013 Posts: 5,109 Northern Michigan	Earliest I remember snow was Sept 12th. I was bear hunting in the western U.P. That was 45+ years ago. None stuck for more than a short while. It is usually in October when we get some that sticks.....at least till afternoon. It was in the upper 30's a few nights ago. I love that this early. My Bride and daughter hate it. I shot an escaped European boar on state land back about 15 years ago. It and about 25 of it's bretheren had vamoosed from under a High Fence places fence. I shot it on the late evening of August 11th, and didn't recover it until morning. It was 39 dergees that night and that whole porker was sweet eating. I was very happy to see sub-40 temps that night!
