The spring on your trap is too weak if they are crawling away.

The last mouse was caught by the rear leg…..and took off …had to unload all the stuff in the camper storage area ,to find him. And get rid of that stench….

Quit being nice Nessy, get mean, mad dog mean. Lol. Alternate traps on a 1x8. I bait these and slide them into attics, crawl spaces etc. Killer set up. Traps are stapled to the board.

Slick set up Rob. Did a “rat” removal job last year at an old house...rock foundation ...holes everywhere. Found out quickly that rats are a bit tougher than mice. Killed 8 in traps and then put bait boxes out for maintenance. So far so good but really couldn’t trap like I wanted to because of pets being present.

What are you using for bait, Nessmuck? It's kinda hard to tell for me anyhow.

I'd be worried about tracking that across a concrete floor, it may not leave much sign...You may want to be sure you have a good tracking dog on hand just in case...

You should put flour all over your floor to aid in tracking after the catch. Kinda like duck dynasty did to find their lizard.
