I suggest some flagging wrapped around the drag. You know, the kind foresters/surveyors use! It should fall off and let you know what direction the “animal” went. Just my two cents. Other suggestions have already been made, swivels, no drag marks, etc. hang around Trapperman and you’ll be an expert in no time! I don’t mean just an expert in trapping either!!

With that type of trap rub peanut butter on the wood UNDER the treddle. Get a perfect neck catch every time. 20 penny nail makes a great stake.

Should probably go with #2 chain, 4 swivels and double anchor with the longest tapcons you can get.
