If I had to carry that for any great distance, I’d have looked for a spike to shoot. Can’t guess what that rack must weigh.

Never mind the rack,or even the whole head-packing out the meat is the real work.
Packing out moosemeat thru muskeg is brutal work.Have done it often in the younger days.
That rack is huge.A good one here is 55+ That one looks well over 70.

That picture sums up why I was willing to buy hay to feed horses for 7 months out of the year while I lived in Alaska!

I was "blessed" with carrying out a mid 40" bull moose in Alaska back in 1983. Was shot 5 miles up a glacier fed river valley. We made three trips in and out along barely discernable trails through the tag alders and devils club. Was in great shape back then. Today it would be more difficult!

That rack is huge!

Chris

Magnificent -he truly is THE bull ..
When you see one that big , they look like they have a sheet of plywood on their head ..
Especially when the sun is shining on them ..
Congrats to the hunter..

I didn't want that picture posted online. When I find out who did it they're in trouble.

Geez, I would be perfectly happy shooting a bull with only those brow tines for a total rack!

Mounted a whopper like that for a local guy some years ago. The guy totally lucked out....he was bowhunting and was in camp in his long-handles resting up from packing his partners other whopper bull out the day before. The partner was rifle hunting. They heard a grunt, and looked across about 100 yards of water to see this absolute monster bull slowly walking along swinging his head like bulls do. The bow was forgotten and he shot it with the other guys rifle. The pack-out was 100 yards to where the Beaver picked them up a few days later.

J Morse I think sometimes they smell the dead bull already in camp and come to check it out
