finished watching " greyhound" last night........a ww2 picture with tom hanks about convoys going across the atlantic and being hunted by german subs.
some of the scenes showed the magnitude of the firepower and firefights ,,,,,,and just overall horrors of war..........

some of these guys were greatul to get 2 hours of sleep...in maybe a 3 day stretch...with the thought you may not open them again in this world.....that went on for months..............most of us complain about putting in 16 hour days when mandatory overtime comes up.

you just simply have to appreciate how tough those guys were............and pray to god that none of us have to experience it,,,,up close.

Thank you to all Veterans for you Service. Many of us have known 23 hr a day duty for too many days in a row .

Can you imagine sitting on that surrounded by that and

not feeling like that?

My dad was in the 3rd Army. In the movie Patton, the march they made to liberate Bastogne, brings a tear to my eye. He got wounded outside Bastoge. Just to think about marching that far in winter conditions then go into battle, and realize he did it. By the way he never said much about the war or his experiences. But he didn't like the movie Patton. He said he wasn't the way they portrayed him. He didn't like the show Hogans Heroes ether , he said the germans weren't that dumb.
