The South Dakota program has two Wildlife Damage Specialist positions available, both based out of Chamberlain SD. Use the link below to apply. Deadline is October 11, 2021

I'd be happy to answer any questions about the program and/or these positions.

I’m quite sure South Dakota winters are a lot different than Louisiana winters. But they don’t have hurricanes in South Dakota!! LOL

I could move back home, Chamberlain is good country.

Way to busy now, with DAY job.

A.D.C. work running me raggid, a good problem to have.

Day job is what pays the bills, A.D.C. helps cover my addiction.

Duties of a Wildlife Damage Specialist involve traveling extensively, often on bad roads and in inclement weather and in remote, rural areas; walking long distances in rough country while carrying packs, traps, and animals and while tracking and hunting animals; operating all-terrain vehicles in rough country or around sloughs and in remote areas; working on flood-stage rivers and creeks in boats; setting and checking traps in deep water; climbing on river banks; handling wildlife, dead and alive, and being exposed to disease and injury; working around domestic livestock in a panic because of predators; working with all of the hazards associated with aerial depredation work; working in the dark during early morning and late night hours while predators are out; answering and returning phone calls at all times of the day or night; and routinely handling firearms, explosives, sharps, poisons and chemicals.

How can you go wrong!!?

That area looks like it offers a lot of different hunting and fishing opportunities.

Would be a great job. However, terrible pay with crap benefits is the only unfortunate part. Should take out coon tail money and pay these state employees what theyre worth!

$20 - $25 based on experience with equipment provided seems to be a descent wage to me. Also no state income tax in SD.

I think one that applies for this job should look at the political climate or leadership involved with these positions. There could be an underlying reason why 2 jobs are open at the same time, maybe not. I just know a few years ago some experienced guys got tired of the environment and quit.
