Anybody ever use their rods? I was about to order a replacement tip section for a st. Croix pack rod and having some trouble finding it. My buddy told me kast king was the same blank. I ordered a 4wt angler of honor pack rod and its a perfect match. All sections interchange just like they should. I took measurements of ferrule diameters and depths and everything is within tolerance. The casting was different but not in a bad way. It loads up a bit different....not faster or slower, just different.

I need a heavy pack rod so I decided to order another from kast king. I called customer service and ordered an 8wt and ask if I could order only the tip section 4wt because it fit a different brand rod I needed replaced. The guy just gave me one. I explained it wasn't a kast king so it wasn't on them to replace it and I'd pay for it. The guy said he would make a note to ship one with the 8wt. Arrived today. The 8wt cast great and loads like my other 2pc 8wt rods and the tip section fit the st. croix like it was made for it. After that kind of experience, I'll have to check out their spinning and casting rods. I'd never heard of them and wondered if anyone had used their rods and what you thought.

Got a rover round reel and a sharky spinner. Both good for the money. The rover ain't an abu but it's a third of the cost. The sharky is a good solid mid range reel.

I went to a rod factory in Korea and they had about a dozen different brands of rods all being cranked out all in the same shop. I bought seconds for $2-$6 each. They had barrels full of them.

I have a wide eye walleye jigging rod. I was skeptical, but honestly its the most sensitive rod I have ever used. M action extra fast tip. Deciphering hits as the jig falls, I always struggle with. Not any more when I use this rod. Some of that is due to fireline, but also the rod blank.

Product Description

The true story about the KastKing Anglers of Honor Fly Combo is so much more than just an excellent quality fly rod and reel. Certainly, it is that and even more, but the real story here is about our American hero’s that have sacrificed so much so that all of us can enjoy our lives and experience the outdoors in freedom.

KastKing has stepped up and created a beautiful 4-pc fly fishing combo that will be given to recovering veterans that have experienced serious spinal cord injuries, TBI or are affected by PTSD. As part of their on-going recovery, Anglers of Honor provides fly fishing classes, experienced mentors and a world class fly-fishing destination in Colorado that has proven to help in their recovery. In the beginning, we simply wanted to be part of this effort by helping to provide an incredible fly-fishing rod & reel to the Anglers of Honor team. However, there were so many requests from anglers across the country for these combos, we decided to make them available to everyone at an incredible spend. In addition, KastKing will be donating a portion of our sales right back to Anglers of Honor to keep their efforts going forward so they can reach even more well-deserved veterans who can benefit from this program.
