What happens if you eat fly agaric?

Amanita Muscaria is not “poisonous” per se, rather it is a hallucinogen/narcotic. When you eat it dried, freshly cooked, or drink water it has been cooked in, you will become intoxicated, or possibly just get sick and vomit all over the place.

Scott, there are specific ways to cook that Amanita muscaria that removes the toxins/hallucinogens, which involves boiling a couple of times in salt water, then frying, etc..
There are good instruction on-line. They taste good but it's hardly worth the effort involved. Be aware though, there are similar Amanitas that are deadly; some brown, white, and yellow capped ones.

It IS poisonous if you eat enough of it. 20 caps or so. If you're wanting to get high, munch down a cap or 2. If you're wanting food, find a better mushroom, lol.
