Yes the Sox played well and the Yankee pitching did not perform well. I was mostly interested in who I thought the Rays match up the best with.

Now let's bring on the Dodgers and Cardinals. I'm a huge St. Louis fan, and baseball is the only sport I follow. I don't care if the Cardinals got swept in the division series, as long as the Dodgers get knocked out after one game.

Sadly, this will likely be the last year of wildcard games in baseball.. I'm especially highly certain of that if the Dodgers end up losing tonight.

10 years ago, there was a team with not much playoff aspiration who got hot at just the right time and snuck into a wildcard spot on the last day of the season. That wildcard team went on to win the World Series that year.. that team was the 2011 STL Cardinals.

It would be absolutely crazy if the World Series this year was the Cardinals vs. the White Sox. Tony LaRussa is managing the White Sox in his first year back after retiring from being a manager when he won the 2011 WS with the Cards

Get rid of the 1 game play in and take the best 4 from each League. Forget the divisions. This year Atlanta wouldn't play. Red Sox and Yanks would have still played, just because it was a tie-breaker for #4 in AL.

I've never like the Dodgers after they left Brooklyn. As a kid growing up, they were my favorite baseball team.

I don't care how nice the hand soap smells, you should never walk out of the restroom sniffing your fingers.

Yes the Dodgers, Braves and Cardinals traditional had very strong minor league system players and grew their own players. In today's rankings it is surprising to find the Cardinals in the 20s, the Dodgers at about the middle and only the Braves above 10 out of those 3. I do give the Cardinals credit however for going after some players when they saw the hand writing on the wall, ditto the Dodgers. Now some of the top teams are the Rays, Mariners, Blue Jays. Our Brewers are near the bottom, however they did bring in some starting pitching talent. Will be interesting to see where this all leads to in a couple season. However free agency, large markets and deep pockets can change the playing field quickly.

Money can’t buy you “ W “......see Garret Cole @ 375 million...His sphincter got tight....and that muscle it attached to the throwing arm....thus rendering him useless.
