' ".... Abraham Lincoln... "a house divided against itself cannot stand" ..."
"Is America nearing a similar point in 2021? Today it is not so much North versus South or free states versus slave states; rather, it is red states versus blue states, the heartland versus the coastal states, elites versus middle class, leftists versus conservatives. No matter how you chose to define the divide, a chasm has grown between two distinct groups living within the U.S. The room for compromise and accommodation seems to be shrinking by the day. Joe Biden's candidacy was based on the promise that he would bring us together. Look at what we got instead: more divisiveness, stoked by the Biden administration itself."
"...political scientists no longer think the idea of a crack-up of the Union is beyond the pale. ... a September 30 poll by the Center for Politics at the University of Virginia showing that over half of Trump voters surveyed nationwide and 41 percent of Biden voters are in favor of blue and/or red states seceding from the union. This is poll isn't the only one showing such a sentiment. An earlier YouGov poll in June revealed that 66 percent of Southern Republicans surveyed said they wanted the Southern states to go their own way."
"As Steven Malanga, writing at City Journal, points out, the new secession movement predates the Trump-Biden race in 2020. That election, along with the reaction to the Wuhan virus, merely rubbed salt in the nation's wound that already was there."
"Secession does not necessarily need to be hard and formal as the South tried in 1861. It can be a United States evolving back to a true republic as it was initially meant to be. In that scenario, states would have more autonomy to enact laws that suit their citizens and not be ruled from the imperial capital on the Potomac. This would begin with states refusing to obey objectionable federal laws or decrees of the Supreme Court."
"Yes, even a soft secession could lead to conflict. But ... that's better than being dictated to by a distant elite, which doesn't come close to sharing my values and is bound and possessed to dictate how I live my life. And if the polls cited above are valid, more and more people shared that view. Once a critical mass is reached, secession in one form or another can take on a life of its own."

I wouldn't have figured the number of people favoring secession would have been nearly that high!

Together we're the strongest nation in the world, militarily, economically, and culturally.
Would you rather be part of a second-rate country? Should we turn into two Canadas?
The red states would certainly be a second-rate nation without the blue states. Be careful what you wish for.

Jim if we're not FREE, it isn't worth spit. I agree with James on the first sentence. The rest is absolute nonsense. Blue states will be starving to death in a matter of weeks if the red states were to cut them off today. The blue states need the food and resources that are within the red states so much that they would invade and start a civil war...........Deja vu perhaps?........where have we seen this before?

Yes, and let those Southerners keep their chili-beanless chili too.
Whoops! I forgot, I'm being held prisoner in a red state. Help!

I am not for any secession. I am for enforcing the constitution, stopping the progression of progressives and hand written ballots with id. Take it all back from the vote cheats....I do not think newsome actually/legally won the recent vote either...we simply need to crush the liberals/whatever it takes and save the republic.

I don't think most states are prepared for that.

The grass is not greener in the other country. The world is becoming more and more unified by communication, technology, and travel options.
Stay where you're at, dig in and prayer that an Advocate helps you be the change you wish to see. In your church. In your family. In your country.
Pretty basic stuff at the end of the day. Every human has a closet. Make sure yours is cleaner before you root around in the neighbor's closet.
Blessings! Mark
