Gov. Gavin Newsom of California has signed a new law that takes affect 2024 that bans off road gasoline engines this includes lawn mowers, chainsaws, golf carts, any thing used off road that is gas powered. It will affect some 50,000 small businesses. They will have to use battery powered or plug in.

I read he also passed a law that stores will now have to have a gender neutral toy and toothbrush section for kids to be able to choose from

Smh....Cart before the horse law.

How will the workers be able to charge their equipment if generators are also banned? Add to that electric yard equipment doesn't have the power that can compete with gas powered equipment.

I bet Newsome can't start a gas powered lawnmower that's why he made this law. Lol.

All this in a state that I understand there already brown-outs due to an insufficient power grid. If we could get enough pry bars into the San Andreas Fault I bet we could start the big slide.

They should only be able to purchase food grown on california land. It will be 10 times the price with no tractors and irrigation.

What effect will this new regulation have on Diesel Farm Tractors ? In the colder areas of California during the Winter, it snows. Do they really expect a battery powered snow blower to blow out a long driveway filled with heavy, wet snow ?

Read the article again and noticed it says "The new law is expected to affect nearly 50,000 small businesses. California's budget includes $30 million to help professional landscapers and gardeners quit using gas-powered equipment, but even then, the budget is still not capable of bearing the full financial burden."

The math equals $600 per small business. $600 is enough for maybe 2 electric leaf blowers lol.

I wonder how many landscapers will be out of business. Kinda hard to cut lawn after lawn with only battery power. Imagine how hard it would be to mow a golf course.

City/municipal/state workers will have problems with this too. Gonna see a lot of tall grass next to the roadways there soon.

It won't matter once they get rid of all the peoplie who aren't wealthy socialists except for their servants. They'll have plenty of power for those who count.

I think they should repeal this law before it is enacted.

Why?

Could start the migration back to Mexico. Or they could pay 5 cents an hour and rent them a pair of hand operated clippers.

I would think it was imperative to keep your lawn short so you could see the coyotes and mountain lions creeping up on you pets and kids

Ok another liberal/ politician that doesn't know cause and effect. The state can't supply enough power now to keep the lights on and air conditioners running. Now you have to drain the grid to charge batteries? They keep screaming not enough electricity to go around but keep adding things to take up more of the available electric.
