The neighbor lost a rooster Saturday. Dead with just the head and neck eaten. No major holes in the coop. Set cages for coon/opposum.
Last night a surprise showed up here, a pink eyed ferret. One that's been handled as I scooped it up by hand.

Now what am I supposed to do with a dang ferret.

I would take the ferret to animal control and let them know people are letting the ferrets go in the wild.

drive it to the nearest large city and release it the same way they go for a drive in the country and drop of their cats and dogs

friend of mine lives about a morons attention span out of town on a county highway gets cats and dogs all the time they hear a car stop , door slam car drive off and a short time later a new cat worst near the end of the month.

animal control or dispatch is the better choice but it would be tempting to take back a few to the city

Warrior; Don't ferrets command crazy prices, over there? Or has that bubble burst?

Could also be someone more locals escaped pet. But, it's anyone's guess if they'll put their hands up to having lost it, if it's been doing what ferrets do best ~ other than escaping.

Pest's Dad about every pet shop in a city has an abundance of them. Last I paid attention they were running around $50 each.

If it’s tame. sale it, or post it on Facebook for lost ferret, or call all the vets around you, down here, they have to have rabies shot.

That's what I mean. Last time I looked, they were fetching like $70.00. Now, as far as I'm aware, right now, a $ is practically worth a £. Neck and neck with a €, or there abouts. I know I'd pick up a $50 bill.

Oh! Sorry. Perhaps I should qualify this by pointing out that we'd basically Give ferrets away to our friends.

Should've killed it on the spot. My Ellie May wife now wants to keep it.

And she's the one that tells me my trapping ain't grocery shopping. LOL

I was trapping some ground hogs from under a building in town a couple years ago and caught one... in a #120 ... I am in the process of tanning it right now. I guess someone in the neighborhood had it as a pet and either released it or it got away from them. Either way... it won't bother anyone else.

Pinky. That's what you should name your wife's new skinny cat.
